Wirra Wirra Original Blend Grenache Shiraz is a red wine from the well-known Australian winery Wirra Wirra. This wine is a blend of two grape varieties: Grenache and Shiraz.
Grenache is a red grape variety often used in blends and originated in Spain, but is also common in other wine regions. Grenache grapes yield wines with juicy red fruit flavors such as strawberry and raspberry, along with notes of herbs and spices. Shiraz, also known as Syrah in some wine regions, is one of the world's best-known red grape varieties. Shiraz wines are known for their rich, dark fruit flavors such as blackberry and blackcurrant, as well as their spicy notes and sometimes a hint of black pepper.
When poured, Wirra Wirra Original Blend Grenache Shiraz has a deep ruby red color, reflecting the concentration of the wine. On the nose, the wine presents seductive aromas of ripe red berries, blackberries and plums, accompanied by notes of herbs and spices, such as cinnamon and nutmeg.
On the tongue, this blend offers a full body with lively acidity and soft tannins. The taste is rich and complex, with a nice balance between the fruity notes of Grenache and the spicy characteristics of Shiraz.
This blend is a wonderful choice for lovers of powerful and tasty red wines with a good balance between fruity and spicy flavors.
Wirra Wirra Original Blend Grenache Shiraz is a versatile wine that can be well chilled, but is best enjoyed at room temperature. It is an excellent accompaniment to grilled meat dishes, stews and barbecue dishes. It also pairs well with savory pasta dishes and hearty cheeses.

The Aboriginal name 'Wirra Wirra' means 'among the gum trees'. Founder Bob Wigley's wines, especially from the Syrah grape, were very popular in London. The wines have been exported around the world for over 100 years. In 1936 most of the vineyards were sold by the family and the wine cellars fell into disuse. In 1969, Greg and Roger Trott bought the dilapidated winery and some surrounding land. The two first cousins brought their own vineyards into the new company and started making wine, aided by the local wine producers.
