RAR Priorat is a small, family-owned winery located in the Priorat region of Spain. Founded in 2011 by Raimon Castellvi and Anna Ramon, the winery is dedicated to producing high-quality, terroir-driven wines that reflect the unique characteristics of the region.
RAR Priorat owns several vineyards in the Priorat region, which are situated at an altitude of 300-400 meters and are planted on steep slopes. The vineyards are planted with old-vine Grenache, Carignan, and Syrah, which are hand-harvested and sorted before fermentation.
The winemaking process at RAR Priorat is traditional, with a focus on minimal intervention and letting the grapes express themselves. The wines are fermented with native yeasts and aged in French oak barrels for up to 18 months.
RAR Priorat produces several wines, including their flagship wine, the RAR Priorat, a red blend made from Grenache, Carignan, and Syrah grapes. This wine is known for its intense aromas of dark fruit, spices, and minerality, as well as its full-bodied and well-structured palate.
RAR Priorat is committed to sustainable winemaking practices, and they have implemented several initiatives to reduce their environmental impact, including the use of renewable energy sources and the implementation of organic farming practices.
