Enate is a winery located in the Somontano region of northeastern Spain, known for producing high-quality wines that reflect the unique terroir of the area. The winery was founded in 1991 by a group of wine enthusiasts, and today it is one of the most renowned wineries in the region.
Enate owns over 500 hectares of vineyards, which are situated at an altitude of 500-700 meters and are planted with a variety of grape varietals, including Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Chardonnay. The vineyards are located on hillsides that provide excellent exposure to the sun, as well as soils that are rich in limestone and other minerals.
The winery produces a range of wines, including their flagship wine, the Enate Reserva Especial. This wine is made from a blend of Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot grapes and is aged in oak barrels for 14 months. The wine is known for its aromas of ripe black fruit, spices, and vanilla, as well as its full-bodied and well-structured palate.
In addition to their Reserva Especial, Enate also produces a range of other wines, including a Chardonnay made from grapes grown at high altitude, and a Syrah-based wine that is aged in oak barrels for 18 months. These wines are all made from carefully selected grapes and are aged in oak barrels for varying lengths of time.
Enate is committed to sustainable winemaking practices and has implemented a number of initiatives to reduce their environmental impact, including the use of renewable energy sources and the implementation of organic farming practices.
