Falset Marça

Cooperative Falset Marça

Cooperativa Falset-Marçà is a cooperative winery located in the Priorat region of Catalonia, Spain. It was founded in 1917 by a group of local grape growers who joined together to produce wine. Today, the cooperative has over 400 members who cultivate around 2,500 hectares of vineyards.

The vineyards of Cooperativa Falset-Marçà are situated on steep hillsides with slate and rocky soils. The climate in the region is Mediterranean, with hot, dry summers and mild winters, which creates ideal conditions for the cultivation of grape varieties such as Garnacha, Cariñena, and Syrah.

The winery produces a range of wines, including red, white, and rosé wines. Their flagship wine is the Vi de Guarda, a red wine made from a blend of Garnacha and Cariñena grapes. This wine is aged in oak barrels for 12-18 months, which gives it a complex and refined flavor profile with notes of dark fruit, spices, and wood.

In addition to their Vi de Guarda, Cooperativa Falset-Marçà also produces a range of other wines, including their young and fruity red wine, the Clos de les Soleres, and their white wine, the Montsant Blanc. These wines are all made using traditional winemaking techniques and are crafted to showcase the unique terroir of the Priorat region.
