Bodega Altolandon is a family-owned winery located in the hills of Landete, in the province of Cuenca, Spain. Founded in 2000 by Roselia Molina and her husband, Manuel Garrote, the winery is situated in a remote and rugged area known for its harsh climate and unique terroir.
The winery's vineyards cover over 120 hectares and are planted with a variety of grape varietals, including Syrah, Garnacha, Bobal, and Cabernet Sauvignon. The vineyards are situated at an altitude of over 1,100 meters, which provides a unique microclimate that is ideal for growing high-quality grapes. The soils are rich in limestone and other minerals, which contributes to the complex flavors and aromas of the wines.
Bodega Altolandon produces a range of wines that reflect the unique terroir of the region. Their flagship wine is the Altolandon Las Ondas, a blend of Syrah and Garnacha that is aged in French oak barrels for 12 months. The wine is known for its intense aromas of black fruit, spice, and oak, as well as its full-bodied and well-structured palate.
In addition to their red wines, Bodega Altolandon also produces a range of white wines, including the Altolandon Mil Historias Chardonnay. This wine is aged in oak barrels for six months and has notes of tropical fruit, vanilla, and toast.
