Menade is a family-owned winery located in the Rueda wine region in central Spain. The winery was founded in 2005 by the Sanz family, who have been making wine for generations. Menade is known for producing high-quality, organic wines that express the unique character of the Rueda region.
The winery owns 180 hectares of vineyards that are certified organic, and they use biodynamic practices to cultivate their grapes. The vineyards are planted with a variety of grape varietals, including Verdejo, Sauvignon Blanc, and Viura.
Menade produces a range of wines, including their flagship Menade Verdejo, which is made from 100% Verdejo grapes. The wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks and then aged on its lees for several months to enhance its complexity and depth. Menade Verdejo is known for its aromas of tropical fruit, citrus, and herbs, as well as its crisp acidity and long, elegant finish.
In addition to their Verdejo, Menade also produces a range of other wines, including a Sauvignon Blanc, a Viura, and a red wine made from Tempranillo grapes. All of their wines are made with a focus on sustainability and respect for the environment, and the winery has implemented a number of initiatives to reduce their environmental impact, such as using solar panels to generate electricity and using natural materials in their packaging.
