Herdade do Esporão is located in the heart of the Alentejo region, in Reguengos de Monsaraz, Herdade do Esporão dates back to the Bronze Age. Since then, wines have been produced and exported even as far as the Roman Empire. The boundaries of the winery have remained unchanged since then, demonstrating a deep respect for tradition and heritage.
Despite their rich history, Esporão embraces modern techniques and innovation. In 1985 they built the most modern winery in Portugal, with an eye for natural processes. A second one followed in 2002, specially designed for the production of white wines. This commitment to quality has made Esporão one of Portugal's most important wine producers.
Esporão strives for a sustainable future. Both the vineyards and the olive groves are managed completely organically. This not only results in pure natural wines, but also contributes to the preservation of the beautiful Portuguese landscape.
