Villa di Mare

Villa di Mare

Villa di Mare is a winery located in western Sicily, Italy. It was founded in 1999 by the French-Italian family of Jacques and François Lurton, who come from a long line of winemakers with vineyards all over the world. The winery is situated in the DOC Marsala zone, near the town of Marsala, and covers an area of 70 hectares.

The vineyards of Villa di Mare are located on gentle hills overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, where the vines benefit from the sun and sea breeze. The soil is composed of a mix of sandy and clay soils with a high limestone content, which contributes to the complexity and minerality of the wines.

The winery produces a range of wines, including Marsala, Grillo, Catarratto, Nero d’Avola, and Syrah. The grapes are harvested by hand and carefully selected, and the wines are produced with a combination of traditional and modern winemaking techniques. The wines are aged in French oak barrels and bottled at the winery.

Villa di Mare is committed to sustainable and environmentally friendly practices in the vineyards and winery. They use natural fertilizers and pest control methods, and the winery is equipped with solar panels to generate electricity.
