Sella Mosca

Sella Mosca is a historic winery located in the northwestern corner of Sardinia, Italy. The estate was founded in 1899 by two Piedmontese businessmen, Erminio Sella and Edgardo Mosca, who were attracted to the island's climate and terrain. Today, Sella Mosca is one of the largest wine estates in Italy, with over 1,600 acres of vineyards, and it is known for producing a range of high-quality wines, including Vermentino, Cannonau, and Carignano.

Sella Mosca is located in the Alghero region of Sardinia, which is known for its cool, coastal climate and its unique terroir, which includes soils made up of a mix of limestone, clay, and sand. The estate is also home to a diverse range of flora and fauna, including wild boars, foxes, and hawks.

Sella Mosca produces a variety of wines, from fresh, crisp whites to full-bodied reds. One of the estate's most famous wines is its Terre Bianche Vermentino di Sardegna DOC, a crisp, minerally white wine that is made entirely from the Vermentino grape. Sella Mosca also produces several red wines, including a Cannonau di Sardegna DOC, which is made from the Cannonau grape and is known for its full-bodied, rich flavor and its notes of ripe fruit, spice, and herbs.

In addition to its winemaking operations, Sella Mosca is also home to an extensive olive grove, which produces high-quality extra-virgin olive oil.
