Masseria Capoforte is a winery located in the Puglia region of Italy, in the town of Manduria, known for its production of high-quality Primitivo wines. The winery is situated on a historic property that dates back to the 16th century and covers approximately 200 hectares.
The vineyards of Masseria Capoforte are located in a unique microclimate, where the sea breeze from the nearby Ionian Sea meets the Apulian plateau. The soil in this area is rich in minerals and limestone, providing the ideal growing conditions for the Primitivo grape. The winery practices sustainable and organic viticulture and uses modern winemaking techniques to produce a range of Primitivo wines that express the unique terroir of the region.
Masseria Capoforte produces several different types of Primitivo wines, including red and rosé wines. The flagship wine of the estate is the "Capoforte" Primitivo di Manduria DOC, made from 100% Primitivo grapes and aged for 12 months in French oak barrels. The wine has intense aromas of black cherry, blackberry, and vanilla, with a full-bodied and velvety texture on the palate.
In addition to their Primitivo wines, Masseria Capoforte also produces other wines such as Negroamaro and Fiano.
