Mamete Prevostini

Mamete Prevostini

Mamete Prevostini is a winery located in the Valtellina region of Lombardy, Italy. The winery was founded in the early 20th century by Mamete Prevostini, and is now run by his great-grandson, Alessandro.

The winery is dedicated to producing high-quality wines that express the unique terroir of the Valtellina region. The vineyards are located at high altitudes, ranging from 500 to 850 meters above sea level, and are planted with local grape varieties such as Nebbiolo (locally known as Chiavennasca), Rossola and Pignola. The winery also works with international grape varieties such as Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, which are grown at lower altitudes.

Mamete Prevostini produces a range of wines, including red, white and rosé wines, as well as a sparkling wine made using the traditional method. Some of their most popular wines include the Sforzato di Valtellina DOCG, a rich and complex red wine made from dried Nebbiolo grapes, and the Sassella Riserva DOCG, a powerful and elegant red wine made from Nebbiolo grapes grown in the Sassella subzone of the Valtellina region.

The winery is committed to sustainable viticulture and uses organic and biodynamic practices in the vineyards. They also have a strong focus on social responsibility and are involved in a number of community projects in the Valtellina region.
