Convento San Lorenzo

Convento San Lorenzo is a winery in the Sassella area of Valtellina, Lombardy, Italy. It is housed in an old monastery from the 12th century, surrounded by a walled vineyard called Clos. The winery produces wines from the Nebbiolo grape variety.

Forty years ago, winemaker Mamete Prevostini took over. The vineyards require perseverance and passion from the winemaker; they are at an altitude of 400-600 meters, it is cold, and the ground consists of sand and stone. The rows of grapes are planted on ancient terraces.
