Saint Péray

Saint Péray

Saint-Péray is a charming wine appellation located in the northern Rhône Valley of France. This appellation is best known for its white wines, which are produced from white grape varieties such as Marsanne and Roussanne. Located on the west bank of the Rhône River, south of Cornas and west of Valence, Saint-Péray's vineyards benefit from a sunny climate and diverse soil types, including limestone and granite.

The white wines of Saint-Péray are characterized by their elegance and freshness. They often exhibit aromas of white fruits, such as pears and peaches, complemented by floral notes and hints of almonds. The wines can be produced either dry or slightly riper and lush, depending on the winemaker's style and terroir.

Saint-Péray also produces sparkling wines using the traditional method, similar to Crémant. This sparkling Saint-Péray is known for its refined bubbles and the expression of local grape varieties.

Although less known than some other Rhône appellations, Saint-Péray has built a reputation for delivering high-quality white wines that combine elegance and complexity. The appellation offers wine lovers an interesting discovery within the diverse wine landscape of the Rhône Valley.
