Joël Delaunay

Domaine Joël Delaunay

Domaine Joël Delaunay is a family-owned winery located in the Loire Valley of France. The winery was founded by Joël Delaunay in 1898 and is now run by his great-grandson, Thierry Delaunay. The estate comprises 165 hectares of vineyards in the Touraine, Anjou, and Muscadet regions, and produces a wide range of wines including Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Gamay, and Cabernet Franc.

The vineyards are managed using sustainable practices and the winery is committed to preserving the natural environment of the Loire Valley. The grapes are hand-harvested and carefully sorted before being fermented with natural yeasts in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The resulting wines are fresh, vibrant, and expressive, reflecting the unique terroir of each vineyard site.

Domaine Joël Delaunay is particularly known for its Sauvignon Blanc, which is produced in several different styles including the crisp and refreshing Touraine Sauvignon Blanc, the elegant and complex Cheverny Blanc, and the rich and intense Sancerre Blanc. The winery's Chenin Blanc-based wines are also highly regarded, with the dry and mineral-driven Anjou Blanc and the off-dry and honeyed Coteaux du Layon both receiving critical acclaim.
