Languedoc Roussillon

French Languedoc Roussillon wines

Languedoc-Roussillon is a large and diverse wine region in the south of France, stretching from the Pyrenees to the Rhône River. The region has a wide variety of terroirs and grape varieties, resulting in a wide variety of wines.

The red wines of Languedoc-Roussillon are often full-bodied and robust, with a deep color and rich flavors of black fruit, spices and herbs. Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Carignan are the most common grape varieties used in red blends, but some excellent single-varietal wines are also made from these grapes.

The white wines of Languedoc-Roussillon are typically crisp and refreshing, with bright citrus and floral aromas. The region is known for producing Picpoul de Pinet, a spicy and dry white wine that pairs well with seafood.

Rosé wines are also popular in Languedoc-Roussillon, often made from Grenache and Cinsault grapes. These wines are typically dry and fruity, with aromas of ripe strawberries, cherries and citrus.

In general, Languedoc-Roussillon offers a varied selection of wines with excellent value for money.
