Domaine Latour-Giraud

Domaine Latour-Giraud is a renowned winery located in Meursault, in the heart of the Côte de Beaune in Burgundy, France. The domain specializes in the production of white wines of exceptional quality, in particular Chardonnay from the prestigious Grand Cru vineyards of Meursault.

The history of Domaine Latour-Giraud dates back to the late 17th century. The Latour family has been based in Meursault for generations and has a deep-rooted bond with the region and its wine-growing traditions.

Under the leadership of Jean-Pierre Latour, the current owner, the estate has built a reputation for making wines that reflect the pure expression of their terroir. Jean-Pierre is an avid supporter of sustainable viticultural practices and minimalist intervention in the cellar, resulting in wines of delicate balance, finesse and complexity.

The vineyards of Domaine Latour-Giraud cover a total of approximately 10 hectares, of which 85% are dedicated to white wines and 15% to red wines. The focus is on the Grand Cru vineyards of Meursault, including Genevrières, Perrières, Porêts and Charmes.

The Chardonnay grapes are harvested by hand to guarantee optimal quality. In the cellar, the grapes are gently pressed and fermented on natural yeasts in traditional oak barrels. Aging can vary from 12 to 24 months depending on the vintage and the specific cuvée.

The white wines of Domaine Latour-Giraud are known for their elegance, finesse and mineral character. They show intense aromas of white fruit, citrus, peach, honey and mineral notes. The wines have a nice balance between acidity and fruit, with a long and complex aftertaste.

The estate's red wines, made from Pinot Noir, are elegant and fruity with soft tannins. They show aromas of red fruit, cherry, plum, leather and spices.
