Christophe et Fils is a family-owned winery located in the village of Meursault in the Burgundy wine region of France. The winery has been producing wine for several generations, and it is currently run by Christophe Pauchard, who took over from his father in 1996.
The estate has around 9 hectares (22 acres) of vineyards, planted primarily with Chardonnay grapes. The vineyards are located in several different appellations, including Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, and Monthélie. The winery produces a range of wines, including several Premier Cru and Grand Cru wines.
The winemaking at Christophe et Fils is based on traditional techniques, with a focus on expressing the unique terroir of each of its vineyards. The grapes are hand-harvested and carefully sorted before being gently pressed. The juice is then fermented in oak barrels, where it undergoes malolactic fermentation and aging. The winery uses a combination of new and used barrels to achieve the desired balance of oak flavor and fruit expression in the finished wines.
The wines of Christophe et Fils are known for their elegance, complexity, and balance, with a focus on expressing the unique character of each vintage and vineyard. The winery's wines have been recognized with numerous awards and high ratings from wine critics and publications around the world.
