Graves is a French wine-growing region that is part of the Bordeaux wine region. The soil consists of boulders, pebbles, more or less coarse siliceous sand, or sand mixed with loam and clay.
Bordeaux Graves wines are often blend wines. These are wines that come from several grape varieties. For the red wines, these are Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and sometimes Petit Verdot, Malbec and Carmenère. For the white wines, these are Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon and Muscadelle.
