Vignoble des 2 Lunes

Vignoble des 2 Lunes

The Vignoble des 2 Lunes is a winery located in the commune of Wettolsheim in the Alsace wine region of France. The winery was founded by Nathalie and Patrick Meyer, who converted to biodynamic farming in 1999. They have a total of 7 hectares of vineyards, with a focus on the traditional Alsatian grape varieties of Riesling, Pinot Gris, Gewürztraminer, and Pinot Noir.

The winery produces a range of wines, including single-varietal bottlings, as well as blends. They use only natural yeasts for fermentation and do not add any synthetic chemicals during the winemaking process. The wines are fermented and aged in a mix of stainless steel, oak barrels, and concrete eggs.

Vignoble des 2 Lunes is known for its commitment to sustainable and organic winemaking practices. They are certified biodynamic by Demeter and certified organic by Ecocert. The winery's name, which translates to "Vineyard of Two Moons," is a reference to the biodynamic calendar, which takes into account the phases of the moon when determining optimal times for planting, pruning, and harvesting.

The Dutch importer of Vignoble des 2 Lunes has unfortunately decided to stop the import of Vignoble des 2 Lunes due to unreasonable price increases. A full-fledged alternative will be sought in the short term.
