Dopff au Moulin

Dopff au Moulin

Dopff au Moulin is a winery located in the Alsace wine region of France, specifically in the village of Riquewihr. The winery has a history that dates back to 1574, and it has been run by the Dopff family since 1945. The current winemaker, Pascal Dopff, is the 13th generation of his family to run the winery.

Dopff au Moulin produces a variety of wines, including several white grape varieties that are common in the Alsace region, such as Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, and Muscat. The winery also produces sparkling wines using the traditional method, known as "Crémant d'Alsace."

The winery practices sustainable agriculture, using methods such as cover crops and minimal use of pesticides to promote soil health and biodiversity. The grapes are harvested by hand and are sorted carefully to ensure only the best fruit is used in the winemaking process.

Dopff au Moulin is known for producing high-quality, elegant wines that showcase the unique terroir of the Alsace region. The winery's Rieslings are particularly highly regarded, with a reputation for being crisp, clean, and mineral-driven, with notes of citrus and stone fruit. The Gewurztraminers are also notable for their aromatic intensity, with flavors of lychee, rose petal, and exotic spices.
