Pedro Parra, also known as "Dr. Terroir", is a passionate winemaker and visionary who is making a name for himself in Chile with his unique wines from the Itata Valley.
Pedro Parra, with more than 15 years of experience as a wine consultant around the world, founded his own winery, Pedro Parra y Familia, in 2004. Located in his hometown of Concepción, he strives to create wines that reflect the unique character of the Chilean terroirs.
Instead of the international grape varieties that dominate Chile, Pedro Parra focuses on old, indigenous grape varieties such as País and Cinsault. He believes that these grape varieties are perfectly adapted to the Chilean climate and terroir, and can produce wines of exceptional quality and authenticity.
Pedro Parra is a forerunner of the "New Chile" movement, which is committed to wines that are less processed and more focused on expressing the character of their origin. He embraces natural vinification techniques, minimizes the use of pesticides and herbicides in the vineyards, and allows his wines to spontaneously ferment with native yeasts.
The wines of Pedro Parra y Familia are known for their lively freshness, mineral acidity and complex aromas. Prized for their pure expression of terroir, they reflect the passion and dedication of Pedro Parra.
