Weingut Geyerhof is a renowned winery located in the Kremstal region of Austria, famous for its commitment to organic viticulture and the production of wines that reflect the unique characteristics of their terroir. The winery, which has been owned by the Maier family since the 16th century, is today managed by Ilse Maier and her son Josef. Their vision and passion for sustainable viticulture have made Geyerhof a pioneer in organic wine production.
The estate covers approximately 23 hectares of vineyards, all of which have been certified organic since 1988. The vineyards are located on the sunny terraces and slopes around Oberfucha, with soils ranging from loess and loam to primary rock. This diverse terroir provides ideal conditions for growing native grape varieties such as Grüner Veltliner, Riesling and Zweigelt, each offering their own unique expression of the Kremstal region.
At Geyerhof, respect for nature is central. The Maier family believes in creating a healthy and balanced environment for their vineyards through biodiverse practices, such as using natural compost, avoiding synthetic chemicals and promoting biodiversity in and around the vineyards. This sustainable approach results in wines with an authentic taste and a strong reflection of their origin.
