Windmeul Reserve Shiraz is a powerful and complex red wine from the Breede River Valley in South Africa. The wine is made from 100% Shiraz grapes that come from selected vineyards in the Breede River Valley. The grapes are picked manually and then fermented in stainless steel tanks. The wine matures for 18 months in French oak, which ensures a complex and rich taste.
The color of the wine is deep ruby red with purple hues. The nose is intense and complex with aromas of ripe black fruits such as cassis, blackberries and plums. Hints of vanilla, toast, spices and tobacco come from the oak aging.
In the mouth the wine is full and powerful with soft tannins, good acidity and a long aftertaste. The aftertaste is long and persistent with notes of black fruit, spices and vanilla.
