Villa Wolf Riesling Fruity is clear, light straw yellow in color. In the nose aromas of white peach and passion fruit. In the taste palette notes of lemon, yellow stone fruit and green apple, accompanied by a slightly mineral aftertaste with fresh acidity, which are somewhat masked by residual sweetness.
Villa Wolf's Riesling is made from grapes from its own vineyards and from grapes supplied by wine growers under contract. At the end of September, the grapes are harvested and immediately destemmed in the vinification room and gently pressed with the greatest care. After this, the juice is transferred to large stainless steel tanks to undergo temperature-controlled (18°C) alcoholic fermentation for more than two weeks. Subsequently, the young wine is given another maturation period on the fine lees without allowing the malolactic fermentation to take place, in order to maintain optimal freshness of the wine. After a few months, the assembly follows and the wine is bottled after a light filtering.
Delicious as an aperitif or with trout with almonds, mussels, chicken or turkey, salads, quiche and fresh goat cheese.
Villa Wolf Riesling Fruity is a delicious white wine from the winery Villa Wolf (owned by Dr. Loosen) from the Palatinate region of Germany. This wine is made from Riesling grapes.
Recommended serving temperature between 10°C and 12°C.
Villa Wolf was founded in 1756, in the Pfalz region of Germany, the J.L. Wolf estate (now called Villa Wolf) was a successful and highly regarded winery for more than two centuries. It entered an especially glamorous era with the construction of its Italianate estate house and villa in 1843. In the latter years of the 20th century, however, the estate languished, lacking a firm hand to guide its wine production.
Ernst Loosen, of the Dr. Loosen estate, took over the vineyards in 1996, launching a dramatic turnaround in the estate’s quality and reputation. Since 2011, the estate has been managed by a talented and dedicated young team that previously worked at Dr. Loosen. Sumi Gebauer and Patrick Möllendorf have brought renewed energy and focus to the viticulture and wine making at Villa Wolf.
The goal at Villa Wolf is to produce wines that express the pure, authentic terroir of the Pfalz. Made in the classic style of the Pfalz, Villa Wolf Rieslings are drier and more full-bodied than Mosel Rieslings, with fully ripe fruit flavors and a characteristic stoniness in the aroma. The Pfalz region also has a long tradition with other grape varieties, allowing Ernst and his team to expand their wine making palette to include Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Gewürztraminer and Dornfelder. To preserve the naturally high quality of the vineyards, we employ sustainable viticultural practices and emphasize gentle handling of the fruit through traditional, minimalist wine making.
