Vignoble Alain Robert Vouvray Ammonite

The Vignoble Alain Robert Vouvray Ammonite is a unique and expressive white wine from the Vouvray appellation in the Loire Valley in France. The wine is made from 100% Chenin Blanc grapes from old vines.

The grapes for the Vignoble Alain Robert Vouvray Ammonite come from 50 to 60 year old vines that grow on calcareous clay soil. The grapes are picked by hand and selected based on their quality. The wine is vinified in stainless steel tanks and wooden barrels. Fermentation takes place naturally using indigenous yeasts. After fermentation, the wine matures on the lees for 12 months, which provides extra complexity and structure.

The wine has a deep, golden yellow color. On the nose the wine is complex and expressive with aromas of citrus fruits, stone fruit, white flowers, minerals, honey, toast and vanilla. The taste is powerful and elegant with notes of citrus fruits, stone fruit, white flowers, minerals, honey, toast and vanilla. The wine has a beautiful structure with fresh acidity and a long, persistent aftertaste.
