South African winemakers use alternative fining agents such as bentonite clay, activated charcoal or pea protein to remove impurities from the wine, rather than animal products such as egg whites or gelatin.
Many South African wineries also use sustainable and environmentally friendly farming practices, such as organic or biodynamic farming, which can improve soil health and reduce the need for synthetic pesticides and fertilizers.
