Portuguese vegan wines

Portugal is home to a growing number of wineries producing vegan wines, which are made without the use of animal products or byproducts in the winemaking process. Portugese winemakers use alternative clarifying agents like bentonite clay, activated charcoal, or pea protein to remove impurities from the wine, rather than animal-derived products like egg whites or gelatin.

Many Portugese wineries also use sustainable and environmentally-friendly farming practices, such as organic or biodynamic farming, which can improve soil health and reduce the need for synthetic pesticides and fertilizers.
