Germany has a growing number of winemakers producing vegan wines, which are made without the use of animal products or by-products in the winemaking process. German winemakers use alternative fining agents such as bentonite clay or activated charcoal to remove impurities from the wine, rather than animal products such as egg whites or fish bladder.
Many German wineries also use sustainable and environmentally friendly farming practices, such as organic or biodynamic farming, which can improve soil health and reduce the need for synthetic pesticides and fertilizers.
Examples of German vegan wines include those made from Riesling, Pinot Noir, and Gewürztraminer grapes.
