Austrian vegan wines

Austria is home to a growing number of wineries producing vegan wines, which are made without the use of animal products or byproducts in the winemaking process. Austrian winemakers use alternative clarifying agents like bentonite clay, activated charcoal, or pea protein to remove impurities from the wine, rather than animal-derived products like egg whites or gelatin.

Many Austrian wineries also use sustainable and environmentally-friendly farming practices, such as organic or biodynamic farming, which can improve soil health and reduce the need for synthetic pesticides and fertilizers.

Examples of Austrian vegan wines include those made from Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, and Blaufränkisch grapes, as well as some unique varietals like Zweigelt and St. Laurent. Many of these wines are also labeled as organic or biodynamic, indicating that the winemaker has taken steps to reduce their environmental impact and promote sustainable winemaking practices.

We sell Austrian vegan wines from Diwald, Meinklang, Wieninger and Heinrich.
