The Wolftrap White

The Wolftrap White is a white wine produced by Boekenhoutskloof Wine Estate in South Africa. It is a blend of different grape varieties that come together to create a refreshing and flavorful white wine.

The exact blend of The Wolftrap White can vary from year to year, but usually includes Viognier, Chenin Blanc and Grenache Blanc. These grapes are carefully selected and harvested by hand to ensure optimum quality and expression of the terroir.

In the glass, The Wolftrap White has a pale straw yellow color with green hues. In the fragrance, it offers a seductive bouquet of tropical fruits such as pineapple and mango, along with citrus aromas and delicate floral notes. On the palate, this white wine is fresh and lively, with a harmonious balance of flavours. Ripe tropical fruit mingles with zesty citrus aromas, complemented by hints of white flowers and a hint of spice. It has a refreshing acidity and a long lasting aftertaste, providing a pleasant and tasteful sensation.

With its vibrant flavours, refreshing character and excellent value for money, The Wolftrap White embodies Boekenhoutskloof Wine Estate's commitment to quality and craftsmanship. It is a wine that offers a delicious and accessible experience and is therefore popular among wine lovers.

Boekenhoutskloof

Boekenhoutskloof Wine Estate is a renowned winery located in the Franschhoek Valley of South Africa. The estate is known for its exceptional quality wines and is considered one of the most prominent wine producers in the country. Boekenhoutskloof, despite its somewhat unusual African name for the 'French' Franschhoek, was founded three centuries ago by French Huguenots.

The winery was founded in 1776 and is located on a historic estate called Boekenhoutskloof, hence the name of the winery. The estate includes vineyards spread over diverse microclimates, adding to the diversity and complexity of their wines.

The current winemaker Marc Kent also still has something with France. He visits it at least once a year to find new inspiration in the northern Rhône, Cornas. At home in Franschhoek, he has made a name for himself with great wines such as Boekenhoutskloof Semillon, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon, all of which belong to the absolute top of South Africa. But Kent has more strings to his bow. In addition to these showpieces, which are only produced in small quantities, he also makes exceptionally attractive wines under the name Porcupine Ridge and The Wolftrap that are available to a wider audience. At a somewhat higher level, The Chocolate Block certainly belongs here.
