Sylvain Loichet Côte de Nuits-Villages Réserve de La Comtesse is one of the very best Bourgogne Blancs of the Côte de Nuits appellation. It is a complex and mineral wine. It has the structure of a Saint-Aubin with subtle floral notes. It is a wine of a very fresh terroir that gives a very fine and delicate aromatic expression. The fragrance develops in notes of fresh citrus fruits such as mandarin, lemon and grapefruit. The freshness in the nose is surprising and makes you want to continue tasting. This purity of citrus fruit is complemented by balanced notes of oak and brioche.

The grapes come from the top of a Premier Cru Nuits-Saint-Georges vineyard. The vines are 50 years old and have developed deep root systems, fed by complex layers of limestone clay soils, resulting in concentrated and complex wines. The grapes are harvested by hand and carefully selected when they have reached the optimum level of ripeness. After this, the grapes are carefully sorted a second time in the wine cellar, after which they are gently pressed with a pneumatic press. The must is transferred overnight in cool temperature in oak barrels of 2 to 4 years old. The fermentation is done with native yeasts that are naturally present on the skin of the grape. Here the wines are aged for 9 months after which they undergo a fine filtration and are bottled by gravity.
