Shelter Winery Pinot Noir, a red wine from Baden Germany, has a beautiful inviting color, very aromatic, plenty of ripe fruits on the nose. Fresh, clean and full of flavour, with a 'kiss of the wood', very fruity. Long and elegant finish with ripe tannins.
The Pinot Noir grapes come from our own vineyards in Kenzingen and Malterdingen. The perfect location in relation to the sun and the high age of the vines ensure natural concentration in the grapes. Only fully ripe grapes are used that are carefully selected by hand. The grapes are soaked for a long time in classic wooden barrels on their skins, where alcoholic fermentation takes place. The Pinot Noir wines are given all the time (18 months) and rest to mature in barriques. To fully preserve the essence of terroir and grapes, the wines are not filtered.
This Pinot Noir combines well with fine and light meat or poultry, with patés, but also with fish and light cheeses.
Shelter Pinot Noir is a delicious red wine from the Baden area Germany. This wine is made by winery Shelter from Pinot Noir grapes.
Recommended wine serving temperature between 15°C and 17°C.
Shelter Winery is the life work of Silke and Hans-Bert Espe. With their savings, they once bought a few plots around Kenzingen, a stone's throw from Kaiserstuhl. Without material, such as a tractor, and without a basement, they plunged into this adventure. At that time they rented an old bunker (hence the name Shelter) for the vinification of their wines. Now they make the most beautiful red wines and belong with their small domain, now established in a brand new wine company, from barely 4.5 hectares to the top of the German red wines.
