Quinta do Infantado Porto Late Bottled Vintage

Quinta do Infantado Late Bottled Vintage (LBV) is a type of Port wine produced by Quinta do Infantado, a renowned winery in the Douro Valley, Portugal. LBV is a category of Port wines made from grapes from a single vintage and aged longer than a standard Vintage Port.

Quinta do Infantado LBV is produced in years when the wine is of exceptional quality. The grapes, mostly from the traditional grape varieties such as Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz, are hand-picked and carefully selected. After fermentation, the wine is transferred to large oak barrels for aging.

Quinta do Infantado LBV is aged longer than a Vintage Port, usually between four and six years. This allows the wine to develop its characteristic aromas and flavours. It has a deep ruby red color and a complex bouquet of ripe red fruits, such as black currants and blackberries, along with notes of spice, cocoa and a hint of mint. On the palate, Quinta do Infantado LBV shows a full body with ripe and concentrated flavors of red fruits, such as cherries and plums, as well as hints of chocolate and spices. The tannins are firm but well integrated, and the wine has a long and lingering finish.

LBV Ports, including Quinta do Infantado LBV, are usually filtered before bottling, making them immediately drinkable without decanting. They are an excellent choice for Port wine lovers looking for the complexity and depth of a Vintage Port, but with a more accessible character and without the need for long aging.

Wine - Food pairing

Quinta do Infantado LBV can be enjoyed as a digestif on its own, but it also pairs well with desserts such as chocolate cakes, blue cheeses and nut tarts. It is an excellent choice for wine lovers who want to enjoy the quality and craftsmanship of Quinta do Infantado in an elegant and tasteful Port wine.
