Paul Schumacher Spätburgunder Trotzenberg

Paul Schumacher Spätburgunder Trotzenberg is a red wine from the renowned Weingut Paul Schumacher. This wine is made from the Spätburgunder grape, also known as Pinot Noir, and comes from the vineyard "Marienthaler Trotzenberg". The vineyard "Marienthaler Trotzenberg" is located in the Moselle valley in Germany and is known for its unique terroir and ideal location. The soils are mainly slate, which contributes to the complexity and minerality of the wine.

In the glass, Paul Schumacher Spätburgunder Trotzenberg shows itself with a deep ruby red colour. The bouquet is refined and inviting, with aromas of ripe red berries, cherries, strawberries and subtle spicy notes. On the palate, the wine offers a medium to full body, silky tannins and a balanced acidity. Red fruit flavor profiles are complemented by hints of vanilla, spices and a long, elegant finish.

In short, Paul Schumacher Spätburgunder Trotzenberg is a beautiful red wine with a refined character. With its complex aromas, silky tannins and long finish, this wine offers a high-quality drinking experience and shows the quality and dedication of Weingut Paul Schumacher.

Weingut Paul Schumacher

Paul Schumacher started making his own wines in 2007, after years of experience as an oenologist.

With approximately 5 hectares of vineyards, Schumacher is one of the smaller wineries in the Ahr. In terms of quality, it belongs to the top, not least because of the great positions of its vineyards (including parcels on the Walporzheimer Krützenberg and the Marienthaler Trotzenberg). With slate and "Grauwacke" (sandstone) soils, rich in iron and minerals.

The valley of the river Ahr is the most northerly place in Europe where world-class red wine can be made. The heat lingers in this narrow valley, and the steep vineyards collect a lot of sun. This is all about one grape: the noble Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir).
