Oriol Rossell Cava Brut Cuvee Especial is a glossy straw yellow in color with brilliant green reflections. Persistent bubbles can be seen in the glass. In the nose fragrant with white fruit aromas and some light syrup tones. In the beginning a fresh bubble with good acidity. Then balanced, creamy and fruity with a long finish.
What makes this Cava special is that it uses old vines with deep roots that bring out a lot of flavor. They give this Cava body and depth. The grapes come from Cal Cassanyes, the domain's only vineyard located 150 meters above sea level. The terroir here is poor with some chalky and sandy loam. This vineyard is grown organically. Fermentation takes place at a low temperature to preserve the aromas of the grapes. The grapes are carefully assembled to obtain a fresh, balanced wine. The wine is aged in bottle for a minimum of 12 months.
Delicious as an aperitif or with seafood, salmon and tuna sashimi.
Oriol Rossell Cava Brut Cuvee Especial is a delicious Spanish organic Cava wine from the Penedès region of Spain. This wine is made from Xarel-lo, Macabeo and Parellada grapes.

The Oriol Rossell domain is located in a protected zone of the Alt Penedès. The domain's origins date back to the late 16th century, as evidenced by references to the names Cassanyes and Rossell found in family records from the time. The two families came together in 1811 through the marriage of Damia Rossell to Madrona Cassanyes, heiress to the family estate. The tradition was continued from father to son and led to the creation of 'Oriol Rossell'. The family has been making cava for 30 years. All this time they have strived to uphold time-honoured traditions and to offer the best quality wines. The company has a limited production and, unlike many of its colleagues, prefers manual production over machine.
Harvesting is also done by hand in the cool of the early morning. This allows Oriol Rossell to carry out a first selection of grapes in the vineyard. The grapes are transported in small crates of 20 kg so as not to damage the fruit. Since they arrive whole at the winery, they retain all their properties. From generation to generation, care has been taken to handle the vineyards and make wine with care. Organic cultivation in the vineyard, slow and well-controlled fermentation in the cellar and finding the right grape composition are examples of this.
