Organic wine

Le Connaisseur is one of the largest suppliers of organic wine in the Benelux, with over 700 organic wines in its range.

A winegrower who produces organic wine does not use chemical or synthetic pesticides and fertilizers. It is the intention that a biological balance is established in its vineyards, so that these chemical agents are not necessary.

The way in which this is achieved differs per winegrower and region and is of course also closely related to the climate. The winegrower stimulates the vine's resistance and ensures that the vine can withstand the attacks of natural enemies such as insects and fungi as well as possible. The soil is provided with organic fertilizer and compost and mechanical tillage is carried out as restrained and carefully as possible, so as not to damage the natural balance.
