Orénia Blanc is a white wine made from a blend of four grape varieties: Grenache Blanc, Marsanne, Roussanne and Viognier. The Viognier grape provides floral and fruity aromas with notes of peach, apricot and violet. Roussanne grapes add texture and body to the wine with aromas of white fruit, citrus and minerals. Marsanne grapes contribute to the complexity of the wine with ripe pear, almond and honey.
After a careful manual harvest, the grapes are destemmed and gently pressed. The fermentation takes place at low temperatures in stainless steel tanks to preserve the freshness of the fruit notes. The wine is then aged for 6 to 8 months in French oak barrels, adding complexity and finesse.
Pour the Orénia Blanc and enjoy an expressive nose of white fruit, citrus, peach, apricot, honey, violets and minerals. The taste is round and powerful with a perfect balance between fruit, acidity and minerality. The wine has a long, persistent aftertaste that will delight your taste buds for a long time.
Orénia Blanc is perfect to combine with various dishes, such as chicken, fish, shellfish, salads and goat cheese. The freshness and complexity of the wine match perfectly with the delicate flavors of these dishes.
Orénia Blanc is a delicious white French Rhône wine from Philippe Nusswitz. This wine is made from Grenache Blanc, Marsanne, Roussanne and Viognier grapes.
Recommended serving temperature between 10°C and 12°C.
Philippe Nusswitz comes, as his name suggests, from Alsace. Here he has worked for a long time as a passionate sommelier, including at Auberge de l'Ill of the Haeberlin family, a restaurant with three Michelin stars. In 1986 he was named 'best sommelier in France'.
But his passion for wine goes beyond the sommelier profession. In the early 2000s he visited the town of Durfort in the Cévennes. The climate, the location at the foot of the mountains and the pure, authentic life have captured him: he sees himself and his family living here and making wine. Together with his wife Pascale and his children, he settled in an old 17th century 'mas' in Durfort in 2002. The couple wants to invite people and share their love for the area and the wines, and decide to rent out some of the rooms to visitors.
Philippe appears to have a talent for winemaking. He throws himself into this with the same passion and drive as in his position as sommelier. Philippe likes to work as purely and cleanly as possible. His wines are powerful and elegant, robust but also fresh. This freshness has to do with the climate: it can be quite hot during the day in summer, but the surrounding mountains cool it down considerably at night, which preserves the freshness in the wines.
