Nusswitz Opale Rosé is a rosé wine that pampers your senses with its freshness, fruitiness and elegance. Originating from the sun-drenched vineyards of Languedoc-Roussillon in southern France, this rosé wine is a creation of the passionate winery Domaine Nusswitz, led by Philippe Nusswitz.
This rosé wine is made from 100% Grenache grapes, which thrive in the warm climate of Languedoc-Roussillon. The grapes are harvested by hand at the optimal moment of ripeness, to preserve freshness and aromas.
After harvest, the grapes are gently pressed and the rosé then undergoes a short maceration on the skins, which gives it the beautiful pink color. The fermentation takes place at low temperatures in stainless steel tanks to preserve the freshness of the fruit notes.
Pour the Nusswitz Opale Rosé and enjoy an expressive nose of red fruit, watermelon, strawberry, raspberry and citrus. The taste is fresh and fruity with a perfect balance between sweetness and acidity. The wine has a long, persistent aftertaste that will tantalize your taste buds.
Nusswitz Opale Rosé is perfect to drink as an aperitif, on a warm summer day or with light dishes such as salads, fish dishes and charcuterie. The freshness and fruitiness of the wine match perfectly with the delicate flavors of these dishes.
Nusswitz Opale Rosé is a delicious French rosé wine from Philippe Nusswitz. This wine is made from Grenache grapes.
Recommended serving temperature between 8°C and 10°C.
Philippe Nusswitz comes, as his name suggests, from Alsace. Here he has worked for a long time as a passionate sommelier, including at Auberge de l'Ill of the Haeberlin family, a restaurant with three Michelin stars. In 1986 he was named 'best sommelier in France'.
But his passion for wine goes beyond the sommelier profession. In the early 2000s he visited the town of Durfort in the Cévennes. The climate, the location at the foot of the mountains and the pure, authentic life have captured him: he sees himself and his family living here and making wine. Together with his wife Pascale and his children, he settled in an old 17th century 'mas' in Durfort in 2002. The couple wants to invite people and share their love for the area and the wines, and decide to rent out some of the rooms to visitors.
Philippe appears to have a talent for winemaking. He throws himself into this with the same passion and drive as in his position as sommelier. Philippe likes to work as purely and cleanly as possible. His wines are powerful and elegant, robust but also fresh. This freshness has to do with the climate: it can be quite hot during the day in summer, but the surrounding mountains cool it down considerably at night, which preserves the freshness in the wines.
