Mottura Primitivo del Salento is a red wine produced by Mottura Vini del Salento, located in the Salento region, Puglia, Italy. This wine is made from the Primitivo grape, an indigenous grape variety known for its rich and fruity character.

Mottura Primitivo del Salento has a deep red color. In the nose intense aromas of ripe red fruit such as cherries, mulberry, blueberries and aromatic herbs and vanilla. A wine with a strong personality that is persistent with pleasant tannins and a soft finish.

The vineyards of this Primitivo are located in the middle of the peninsula in Salento. The terroir consists of calcareous clay. Winters here are moderate and springs and summers very dry.

The grapes are harvested strictly by hand when ripe, the bunches are carefully selected and subjected to a traditional maceration of 10-12 days on the skins, during which the must is fermented at a controlled temperature. Alcoholic fermentation is followed by malolactic fermentation. The wine is aged for about 6 months in French oak barriques and then the wine continues to mature in the bottle for another 2 to 3 months.
