A real "orange" wine. Light orange colored, nice broad with many facets giving taste. This "orange" wine is vinified in the manner of red wine, skin soaking for a few weeks. This results in a light colored wine that, because no filtering takes place, is also slightly cloudy. A wine with a lot of content, every sip gives a different aspect.
Graupert means "wild" is the dialect spoken in Burgenland. Wild in this case stands for the fact that the vines are not pruned during the season, so that there is a very wild vineyard. This gives the plant small open bunches that are very rich in extract. The skins of this Pinot Gris are left to soak for a few weeks during vinification, so that a complete transfer of flavor and aromas takes place. No yeasts are added and sulfites are not used in the vineyard and during production.
An excellent wine that goes well with salmon, chicken or pork.
Meinklang Graupert Pinot Gris is a delicious organic white wine from the Neusiedlersee area Austria. This wine is made from Pinot Gris grapes by Weingut Meinklang.
Recommended serving temperature between 10°C and 12°C.
This winery is managed by Werner Michlits. The Meinklang vineyards can be found on the eastern side of Lake Neusiedlersee in eastern Austria close to the Hungarian border. Long summer days ensure the best physiological ripeness, while cool evenings give the grapes 'rest' time. Vineyards that are densely planted around the lakes have a high humidity in combination with warm air, the ideal conditions in Austria.
