El Recio is one of the wines in Bodega Matsu's range and represents the middle expression of the Tinta de Toro grape in terms of maturation and complexity. The name "El Recio" means "the firm" in Spanish, which refers to the powerful structure and firm tannins that characterize this wine.
When poured, Matsu El Recio reveals a deep and intense cherry red color, reflecting the concentration of the wine. On the nose, the wine offers seductive aromas of ripe black fruits, such as blackberries and plums, along with notes of spice, tobacco and a hint of vanilla, which come from possible aging in oak barrels. On the tongue, the wine presents itself with a full body and powerful tannins. The taste is rich and complex, with an excellent balance between fruity and spicy notes, resulting in a wine with a firm structure and a pleasant aftertaste.
