Maison Centaurée Syrah is a red wine from Languedoc, France. The wine is made from the Syrah grape, which is known for its powerful aromas and flavors. This wine has a dark purple color and an intense nose with aromas of blackberries, blackcurrants, cinnamon and herbs.
Maison Centaurée Syrah has a full, rich taste with a good balance between fruit and acid. The wine is powerful and firm on the palate, with a long and pleasant aftertaste.
Two different vinification methods are used to make this Syrah. 70% of the grapes undergo a long maceration (soaking of the grape skins). And 30% of the grapes are fermented in their entirety. After blending the wines, 10% of the wine matures in wood.

Maison Centaurée
The winery is named after the Centaurée, the French word for cornflower. This rare, protected flower is scattered in remote places in Minervois and at the foot of the Pyrenees, as well as in the winery's vineyards. Maison Centaurée honors this small wildflower and tailors its agricultural methods to its conservation. Their aim is to give the wines the same generous nature as that of the Centaurée flower; the passionate winemakers make it a sport to match the flavor profiles of Burgundy wines.
In 1995, Laurent and Catherine Delaunay, originally winemakers from the Burgundy region, started making wines from regions such as the Rhône, Provence and Languedoc under their own flag.
The vineyards are located around the towns of Beziers and Carcassonne. All grapes are picked manually, which guarantees quality. The vines have an average age of 20-25 years old and grow in rich terroir. After picking the grapes, (long-term) ripening follows, according to the “Sur Lie” method and in oak barrels.
