Luigi Baudana Barolo Serralunga is a remarkable wine from the renowned Luigi Baudana winery, located in the prestigious Barolo area in Piedmont, Italy. This wine embodies the essence of the Barolo region, known for its powerful and complex wines from the Nebbiolo grape.

Since 2009, Aldo Vajra has been making wines for Luigi and Fiorina Baudani, who have been growing grapes in the Serralunga area for over 30 years. Under his leadership, the vineyards have transitioned to organic viticulture. This collaboration gives Aldo the opportunity to make wines in a different region and with other grape varieties.

The grapes grow in 5 different vineyards in Serralungo. The soil here consists of fossil-rich marl, limestone, iron-rich clay and sand. The vines are 30 to 40 years old and are planted in vineyards at an altitude of about 340 meters. The wine has the structure characteristic of Serralunga, but with an accessible, lively twist.

The Barolo Serralunga is produced from 100% Nebbiolo grapes, sourced from the vineyards surrounding the village of Serralunga d'Alba. The soils in this area are rich in limestone and marl, which contributes to the depth and structure of the wine. The grapes are carefully harvested by hand and then vinified with care to preserve the characteristic properties of the terroir.

In the glass, the Luigi Baudana Barolo Serralunga presents itself with a deep ruby red color that testifies to its concentration and potential. The bouquet is complex and inviting, with aromas of ripe red berries, cherries, herbs, tobacco and earthy notes. When tasted, this wine reveals a powerful structure with firm but ripe tannins, lively acidity and a long, impressive finish.
