López de Haro Rioja Seleccion de 30 Barricas has a deep red cherry color in the glass. In the nose the wine is intense and complex. Nuances of black fruit from a ripe and full-bodied grape stand out and mingle with smoky notes from the oak barrel along with spicy and cocoa notes. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied with strong character, as well as fleshy and elegant, with mature tannins providing a tasty lingering finish.

Rioja Seleccion de 30 Barricas is made from Tempranillo and Garnacha grapes, from old vineyards with very low production. The Tempranillo vineyards are in the area of ​​Sonsierra (la Rioja) and the high altitude Graciano vineyards in the area of ​​Cárdenas.

The grapes are picked by hand in October. From reception of the grapes in the cellar, one works with gravity. That means no pumps are used, which is better for the grapes and ultimately the wine. Fermentation takes place in 500 liter open barrels made of French oak, which are dipped daily according to a traditional process. Malolactic fermentation takes place in new French oak barrels, where the maturation takes place. The wine is aged for over 30 months in new French oak barrels. The wine then rests in the bottle for another 3 years.
