López de Haro Rioja Gran Reserva has a bright cherry red color and a garnet rim. In the nose, the wine has a high aromatic intensity, pure and ripe. Complex on the nose with nuances of coffee, vanilla, roasted notes and balsamic, integrated in an intense base note of ripe fruit. In the taste it is elegant and round. Well balanced with a velvety attack followed by a pleasant acidity and a silky and full-bodied finish resulting from its noble and ripe tannins. The long finish has spicy and balsamic hints, which are the result of the long and gentle maturation, as well as candied fruit nuances that reveal its personality.
This wine is made from Tempranillo and Graciano grapes. The grapes are harvested by hand in the third week of October and come from old, low-yielding vineyards on the nutrient-poor land of the Ebro terraces in the region of San Vicente de la Sonsierra (La Rioja). The wine is made in barrels of 30,000 kg. After 2 weeks of maceration, it is matured for 30 months in French and American oak barrels, after which the wine rests for at least 3 years in the bottle.
