Locos Por El Vino Gruñon

Locos Por El Vino Gruñon is a red wine from the Spanish wine region Campo de Borja. The wine is a blend of 50% Garnacha and 50% Syrah grapes and has matured for 10 months in stainless steel.

The wine has a deep red color. The nose shows aromas of ripe black fruit, such as blackberries, black cherries and plums. There are also hints of herbs, such as laurel and thyme. In the mouth the wine is full and powerful, with a good balance between fruit and tannins. The flavors of ripe fruit are dominant, with a light touch of spice. The aftertaste is long and pleasant.

The vines of the Syrah are 10-15 years old, those of the Garnacha vary between 15 and more than 25 years old. The two varieties are picked separately and vinified in small stainless steel tanks. Fermentation for the garnacha takes place at 25° - 30°C. The Syrah undergoes fermentation at low temperatures, between 20 - 22 °C. Finally, the Locos por el Vino Gruñón is bottled without the use of wood.

Bodegas Alto Moncayo

Bodegas Alto Moncayo is a renowned Spanish winery located in the Campo de Borja region, in the north of Spain. This winery has been recognized for its production of some of the most high-quality and powerful red wines in Spain.

Bodegas Alto Moncayo focuses mainly on the Garnacha grape variety, internationally known as Grenache. The vineyards are located in Campo de Borja, an area characterized by a dry and harsh climate with stony soils. These conditions are favorable for the growth of the Garnacha grape, and some of the vines are quite old, which contributes to the intensity of the wines.

The grapes harvested for Alto Moncayo wines are carefully selected and processed with great attention to detail. Winemaking methods often involve a combination of modern and traditional techniques, including longer maceration for optimal extraction of flavors. The wines are typically aged in oak barrels, which adds complexity and structure.
