Locos Por El Vino Barambán

Locos Por El Vino Barambán is a red wine from the Spanish wine region Campo de Borja. The wine is a blend of 50% Garnacha and 50% Tempranillo grapes and is aged for 10 months in stainless steel.

The wine has an intense ruby red color. The nose reveals aromas of ripe fruit such as blackberries, black cherries and plums. There are also hints of oak, such as vanilla, toast and cocoa. In the mouth the wine is full and powerful, with a good balance between fruit and tannins. The flavors of ripe fruit are dominant, with a light touch of spice. The aftertaste is long and pleasant.

The Tempranillo grapes come from 25 to 35 year old vines, while the Garnacha vines are 15-25 years old. The two variants are fermented separately in small stainless steel tanks. Garnacha at a controlled temperature of 25ºC to 30ºC, Tempranillo at a temperature of 20ºC and 22ºC. The Garnacha then matures for 6 months in American oak, and the Tempranillo for the same period in French oak.

Bodegas Alto Moncayo

Bodegas Alto Moncayo is a renowned Spanish winery located in the Campo de Borja region, in the north of Spain. This winery has been recognized for its production of some of the most high-quality and powerful red wines in Spain.

Bodegas Alto Moncayo focuses mainly on the Garnacha grape variety, internationally known as Grenache. The vineyards are located in Campo de Borja, an area characterized by a dry and harsh climate with stony soils. These conditions are favorable for the growth of the Garnacha grape, and some of the vines are quite old, which contributes to the intensity of the wines.

The grapes harvested for Alto Moncayo wines are carefully selected and processed with great attention to detail. Winemaking methods often involve a combination of modern and traditional techniques, including longer maceration for optimal extraction of flavors. The wines are typically aged in oak barrels, which adds complexity and structure.
