Les Charmettes Marselan Syrah is a red wine from the Languedoc. Marselan is the result of a cross between Cabernet-Sauvignon and Grenache Noir, made in 1961 at Domaine de Vassal (Marseillan-plage).
This polyphenol-rich grape variety has the suppleness of Grenache and the mantle of Cabernet-Sauvignon. It gives a concentrated red wine with aromas of herbs and fruit. The Marselan, reminiscent of the aromas of Grenache, goes well with the Syrah, which evokes spices.
Maturation took place in oak barrels.
Delicious as an aperitif or with Mediterranean vegetable dishes, couscous, fried and grilled meat dishes.
Les Charmettes Marselan Syrah is a delicious French Languedoc-Roussillon wine from Domaine Les Charmettes from France. This red wine is made from Syrah en Marselan grapes.
Recommended serving temperature between 15°C and 17°C.
In the heart of the Languedoc, in the Hérault department, lies the 80 hectare domain of the Alcon family. They have been working according to nature-friendly farming methods (agriculture raisonnée) for four generations.
Rows of tall trees protect the vineyards from the powerful Mediterranean wind, which also provides the necessary cooling. The winery grows several indigenous as well as more famous grape varieties such as Chardonnay and Viognier. The drive of the family in combination with the terroir make this a particularly good winery.
