Champagne Leclerc Briant Rosé Brut

Champagne Leclerc Briant Rosé Brut has a brilliant, flowing and shimmering light pink colour, flecked with salmon pink flecks in the depth of the glass with a lively flow of small bubbles creating a delicate ring of mousse at the top of the glass. A visual delight that promises a wonderfully fresh and complex victory.

The first aromas in the nose are of raspberry, wild strawberries, pink grapefruit. acacia blossom and peony with a hint of anise and mint. After breathing for a while, the wine reveals scents of blackcurrant, peach, passion fruit and an intoxicating scent of roses combined with creamy chalk, peeled almonds and licorice.

In the mouth, the first sensation is smooth and fresh with a soft and creamy effervescence followed by a soft, fleshy fruitiness supported by citrus. The middle palette is round with a mineral quality that brings out both chalky and marl and that has breadth, fruitiness and a clear crisp in combination with salt and length on the palate. It only takes a few seconds for the full depth of this Champagne to come through, nicely balanced between an umami freshness and an intense feeling of ripe fruit plus a slight hint of spice, all of which make this an ideal aperitif Champagne. The finish, with its perfectly judged dosage, leaves a juicy fruity feeling and a hint of salt. Set in an ever-changing swirl of freshness that reflects the extreme care and attention given to this Champagne Rosé Brut at every stage of its creation well back into the vineyards.

Wine - Food pairing

Champagne Leclerc Briant

Founded in the village of Cumières in 1872 by Lucien Leclerc, the company moved in 1955 to the premises it still occupies today in Chemin de la Chaude Ruelle in Epernay. It was also during this time, thanks to the dynamism of Bertrand Leclerc, the founder's great-grandson, and of his wife Jacqueline Briant, that the estate-based business changed its status to that of a Maison de Negoce or trading house.

In 2012, after the death of Pascal Leclerc, the house Leclerc Briant was saved from obscurity when it was taken over by Mark Nunelly and Denise Dupré. This American couple loves the French 'art de vivre'. The couple instantly fell in love with Leclerc Briant's maverick character. They are joined by Frédéric Zeimett, born in Champagne, who has been driving the house to the highest standards ever since. Previously, Frédéric gained experience at Moët & Chandon and became acquainted with biodynamics at Michel Chapoutier in the Rhône.

New Leclerc Briant owner Denise Dupré immediately set to work with the purchase of 14 hectares of Premier Cru vineyards. All are certified organic and are cultivated biodynamically.

All Champagnes also have the vegan quality mark. They specialize in the production of 'single vineyard' Champagnes, always with a vintage.
