Château Giscours has a long and rich history dating back to 1330. The Château has passed through various hands over the years. After a difficult period in the 20th century, the Château, classified as 3rd Grand Cru Classé in 1855, was bought in the mid-1990s by the Dutchman Eric Albada Jelgersma (also owner of Château du Tertre). He restored the Château to its former glory and invested heavily in a rigorous replanting program and the purchase of new equipment.
This makes Château Giscours a worthy 3rd Grand Cru Classé again. The winery today comprises 94 hectares of vineyards, 60% of which are planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% with Merlot, 5% with Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot.
